Paint for Protective Coating - Questions/ColorsQ.
Is ArmorPoxy Protective Coating Expensive?A.
ArmorPoxy paint is more expensive than regular paint because we use
the highest quality, patented epoxy resins and super epoxy esters available today.
Due to its high coverage (2 to 3 times more surface area per gallon than traditional
paint) and often the need for only one application, ArmorPoxy is actually LESS
expensive than regular paint. In addition, when you figure in the cost of purchasing
replacement floor paint or wall paint repainting every few years, something you
do not need to do with ArmorPoxy, you realize that ArmorPoxy is the best value
on the market today. For pricing information please visit our online
store. Q. Where Can I Buy
ArmorPoxy Protective Coating and Floor Paint?A.
ArmorPoxy protective coating, floor paint and other products are NOT
available in retail paint stores or home centers because these channels of distribution
want to keep selling you paint every few years! Armor-Poxy is too high-quality
for retail distribution. It is only available directly from us, Specialty Coatings,
Inc., one of the Nation's leading formulators of coatings. Q.
Is It Difficult to Apply ArmorPoxy Floor Paint & Protective Coating
Products?A. Use of ArmorPoxy
requires no special skills. It can be brushed, sprayed or rolled onto almost any
surface. If you do need to spray, we suggest thinning out up to 20-25% with Xylene
Solvent. ( make sure to check all federal, state and local regulations regarding
V.O.C. - Volatile Organic Compounds - issues to assure compliance, before thinning.) Q.
Do I Need to Prepare the Surface Prior to ArmorPoxy Application?A.
No special surface preparation other than what you would normally do
before applying wall or floor paint is needed to apply ArmorPoxy. It goes on fast
and easy, like traditional protective coatings, but fills many cracks and voids,
and hides many surface irregularities with only one coat. The special resins make
it adhere to almost any clean, dry surface. ArmorPoxy adheres to what's underneath
it. Q. To What Type of Surface
Can ArmorPoxy Protective Coating Be Applied?A.
ArmorPoxy paint coating can be applied to almost all surfaces including
metal, wood, fiberglass, cement and masonry. Q.
What Is the Life Span of ArmorPoxy Paints?A.
ArmorPoxy has been tested to last up to and even over 20 years without
need to repaint! Often, a second coat of ArmorPoxy slightly thinned out can add
10 or more years to a surface. Q. Is
ArmorPoxy Protective Coating Hard to Remove?A.
ArmorPoxy can be easily removed with mineral spirits, and requires
no special chemical or harmful cleaner for proper use. Q.
Is Mixing Necessary?A. ArmorPoxy
does NOT need to be mixed with any special chemicals or catalysts like regular
epoxies. Simply mix and stir the contents like you would any traditional paint. Q.
Can I Re-use ArmorPoxy Paints?A.
A can of ArmorPoxy can be used over and over. It does not "set-up"
or "cure" once the can is opened. Cans opened for long periods may require
a small amount of mineral spirits to enhance its properties. Q.
What Paint Colors Are Available?A.
ArmorPoxy is available in 15 bright, long-lasting colors, plus clear.
Special and custom colors are available at additional cost. Its high gloss or
satin finishes show no brush marks, and enhance the surface of almost anything
you coat it with. Please contact us for details. COLORS:

and avoid any contact with sparks, open flames, or other ignition sources. Q.
What Is the Cure Time?A.

overnight; To re-coat 24 hours. Full cure may take up to 1 week or longer depending
on ambient conditions. Q. Do
I Need To Use a Primer?A. ArmorPoxy
does not normally require the use of primers. For surfaces needing to be primed,
we suggest using our floor
sealer/prep for concrete or our primer for bare wood. Then apply Armor Poxy
full strength for the second coat! ( make sure to check
all federal, state and local regulations regarding V.O.C. - Volatile Organic Compounds
- issues to assure compliance, before thinning.) Floor Paint, Concrete
