ArmorUltra
industrial coating product is available in clear and 9 other colors (Dark Gray,
Medium Gray, Light Gray, Tile Red, Beige, Yellow, Off White, White and Navy Blue.
We also offer ArmorUltra in a low temp formulation for application in colder temperatures.
Call for details. For non skid areas we offer a non skid additive 60 or
30 grit. To use the non skid additive apply the first coat and then either by
hand or by use of a fertilizer spinner apply the grit to the floor. A second coat
is required to hold the grit in place and assure long life. Non skid is sold in
a 10 lb container for $59.99 and will treat about 10 gals. ArmorUltra can
only be applied to bare concrete or over existing 100% solids epoxies. If you
are unsure as to the present floor coating, then it must be removed by shot blasting.
Use magnetic broom and vacuuming to remove any shot prior to applying ArmorUltra.
Test of moisture by applying a 3' x 5' sheet of clear plastic to floor area. Duct
tape all 4 sides. Wait 24 hours. If moisture appears then do not apply.
Application
of this industrial coating product is as follows: Sweep floor. Clean floor by
power washing. Muriatic acid etch if possible and then rinse well to neutralize
the acid. Oil stains must be removed or treated prior to application. See
our online store/cleaners page for special products to remove oil and grease.
Mix parts A & B for 3 minutes using a power drill mounted paint mixer. Make
sure to have all of your tools and supplies on hand and be 'ready to go' as ArmorUltra
has a relatively short "pot life". Pot life is the amount of time before
the ArmorUltra starts to thicken and is approximatley 30 minutes at 75 degrees
and 90 minutes at 60 degrees. Make sure to not overmix if you cannot apply that
same quantity of ArmorUltra before it starts to thicken. Recommended application
method is by pouring a 'bead' of the mixed material onto the floor and squeegeeing
out with a 18-24" flat rubber squegee. A 1/4" nap roller can be used
to get into difficult areas or under equipment. A second coat can be applied after
24 hours. Backrolling with 1/4" nap roller after squeegeeing is highly recommended.
Coverage
can be adjusted up/down by applying thicker/thinner. Coverage @ 12 mils is 130
square feet/gallon and can be applied up to 30 mils thick for a coverage of 53
square feet/gallon. Thicker coverage can be obtained by the use of a notched squeegee
instead of a roller. Notch sizes of 1/16" - ¼" can be used. The
larger the notch size, the thicker the application. Max recommended final thickness
is 35 mils. Entire product batch does not need to be mixed at the same time
as
long as the ratio of 2:1 is adhered to opened non-mixed containers can be used
in the future.
